Wavefront Custom Lasik Zyoptix is the latest advancement in LASIK technology.  With wavefront LASIK treatment, patients often have even better vision than can be obtained with traditional LASIK.  For many patients Wavefront LASIK improves night time vision beyond what they could see previously with mere glasses or contacts.  Just as no two eyes are identical, no two LASIK treatments should be identical.  With Custom Wavefront LASIK the treatment for each eye is absolutely unique and specific for that eye.

As light travels through an eye it is bent and shaped by the tear film, the cornea, and the lens.  To understand exactly how the light is being affected in a patient's eye, a map is made showing how light is warped by the patient's refractive errors.  No two eyes ever have the same wavefront map, each is as unique as a fingerprint. 

Next, this map is analyzed by a computer and a custom LASIK treatment strategy is created.  The surgeon then modifies this treatment to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient.  The process is completed when the patient is treated by the Bausch and Lomb Technolas laser.
