Dr. James Cameron has been practicing ophthalmology in the Anoka area since 1978. He is a native of northern Minnesota and was raised in Crookston until the middle of his high school years when his family moved to Clovis, New Mexico.
Dr. Cameron attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and medical school at McGill University in Montreal. Post-graduate education included studies at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland and the Mayo Clinic. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Ophthalmology.
In his free time Dr. Cameron enjoys flying light aircraft. He worked as a pilot during medical school and holds an Air Transport Pilot rating. He also enjoys hunting grouse with his dog Beemer. Dr. Cameron is married to his wife, Sarah, who works with the Infection Control Department at Fairview University Hospital.
